Where it all began

A Couple of Chapters

Hailing from Bluff, Southland New Zealand, my professional rugby league career began in the 1990s. I played at representative level for New Zealand Under 17's, NZ Under 19's and New Zealand Māori, and at club level for Auckland Warriors (Colts), and the Warrington Wolves (Heritage No. 953), as a prop.[1]

Professional Career

In 1995, I was signed by the new Auckland Warriors franchise and played for the Warriors Colts in the Lion Red Cup. I was lucky enough to part of the side that made the Grand Final that year; however, we were unsuccessful this time.

I was signed by Warrington on a one-year deal in 1997 and played his first game for the club on 21 January 1997 but early on I suffered a serious knee injury and had to undergo surgery. I returned to the Warriors in 1998 and was selected for the New Zealand Māori tour of the Cook Islands.

I have had to undergo several knee surgeries since and weight training has been critical to rehabilitation, recover and sanity!

Wrestling

I have always loved wrestling since I was a young boy, one of my favorite wrestlers was 'Ravishing Rick Rude'. I later became a professional wrestler, winning the WCW Australia Heavy Weight Championship, Tag Team Championship, IPW Champion and I was honored to compete in the 2007 NZPWI Invitational.

Personal Trainer

I grew up in Bluff and started weight training at the age of 14, to be stronger for footy. Wrestlers who inspired me to train to the max include, Ravishing Rick Rude, British Bulldogs, Ultimate Warrior and so many more!

With over 20 years of experience in the fitness industry, weight training has always been an important part of my life. I enjoy supporting people from all walks of life to achieve their fitness goals and I hope you find some helpful ideas through my blog to assist you in accomplishing your goals!
